About School

Holy Child School shines at the Zenith of Krishnanagar radiating the light of Knowledge and Virtue to thousands of young children of Guwahati.

St. John Bosco, the great educator, started the Salesian Congregation for guiding the misled youth of the times. Prompted by the same desire to help the girls who till then had not received any proper guidance, Mary Mazarello, as an active and creative Holy Child School collaborator of Don Bosco co-founded the institute of the Salesian sisters in 1872 at Mornese ( Italy).

A new child was born to the institute during its centenary year 1972. Thus Holy Child School was started to cater to more young children of the city especially of the neighborhood.

Educational Approach

The system of education followed in the Schools run by the Salesian Sisters is the Preventive System which is based on three great principles of Reason, Religion and Loving Kindness which create the educational climate of the school. The Sisters, Teachers, Parents and Students constitute an integral unit known as the Educating Community whose primary aim is to form the young to become builders of an honest society, women of upright thinking and acting, commitment and competence.

We envisage our students to become intellectually enlightened, morally upright, spiritually oriented, emotionally balanced, socially committed, patriotic, eco-friendly and accomplished ; in a word, integrally developed young women who will be agents of social transformation in the multi-cultural, multi-religious context of our nation.
